Welcome, this site showcases personalized historical relics not found in museums but in private collections. All relics have a story that need told but that is not often possible. Through the efforts of these author/caretakers, these relic and the people associated with them are now being shared.
There is no admission fee, no robotic bored guide to follow or tour group banter to annoy you, browse at your leisure. In other words, it doesn't get any better than this. Enjoy your visit and continue checking in as more relic stories are in the works.

Abraham Lincoln Camp # 6, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War located in Rochester, NY has ordered a new government issue headstone for Sgt. Nelson. This will replace the repaired and illegible government issue headstone now present. Old headstone photos may be seen at Post War top and bottom of page. With any type of luck, the new headstone will arrive and be mounted by 07/07/2008, the 121st anniversary of Nelson's passing. Thank-you Camp # 6!!
Funds are needed to pay cemetery fees associated with removal of the old stone and mounting Nelson's new headstone. Can you spare $5 to have a new headstone installed for Charles? Any amount of donation of course, is welcomed and appreciated. Upon payment of fees, any and all remaining surplus funds will be gifted to Abraham Lincoln Camp # 6, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and Friends of Mt. Hope Cemetery. Photos of the new stone and amounts gifted will appear on this page shortly after a visit to Charles Nelson's grave in mid-July.
